Bylaws concerning the election of honorary members

Article 1. Honorary members will be selected from those who are 65 years old or over and satisfy one of the following conditions:

Article 2. A person living in a foreign country may become an honorary member if he/she satisfies all of the following requirements:

Article 3. Employees may recommend a person, living in Japan or a foreign country, as an honorary member. Those who satisfy the requirements above, even without recommendations, may be screened and recommended as honorary members by the board meeting.

Article 4. The board chairman shall set a period for recommendation and accept recommendations in a prescribed form for an honorary member.

The following documents will be required:

Article 5. An honorary member shall be delegated by the board chairman with board meeting approval and on consultation with the general meetings of employees and members.

Article 6. The following benefits will be bestowed on honorary members.

Article 7. In the case of selecting a person as a posthumous honorary member, the board chairman shall make a decision following board meeting consultation.

Article 8. An honorary member of the society will be referred to as an gHonorary Member of the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicineh in English.

Additional Clause: These bylaws will become effective from the date of the establishment of the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine. This revision will take effect on May 16, 2006.
