Bylaws concerning the election of auditors
Article 1. A person who wants to run for the office of auditor, whether recommended by oneself or others, shall submit to the board of directors at least three months before the general assembly of members each year.
Article 2. Auditors will be elected from candidates who have submitted to the board of directors at the general assembly of employees.
Article 3. Auditors shall be elected at the council meeting according to the following rules:
- 1) The board chairman will assign two councilors as election administrators responsible for election procedures.
- 2) Elections shall be conducted by joint (2 names) and secret ballot.
- 3) No absentee voting shall be allowed.
- 4) Ballots will be considered invalid if:
(1) An official ballot paper is not used
(2) The name of a non-candidate is written
(3) More names than a specified number of candidates are written
(4) Less names than a specified number of candidates are written
(5) The same name is written multiple times
(6) Names are illegible
(7) Honorific titles are added to names
- 5) The winners will be decided as follows:
(1) Two candidates who have won the highest and second highest number of valid votes shall be the winners.
(2) If multiple candidates in the lowest order of the quota have obtained an equal number of valid votes, the winner shall be determined by drawing in the presence of election administrators. A substitute for a vacancy shall also be selected and announced.
Article 4. If one of the auditors is not able to complete his/her term of office for any reason, a substitute will serve for the remaining term with board meeting approval.
Additional Clause: These bylaws will become effective from the date of the establishment of the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine. This revision will take effect on May 16, 2006.
