Appendix 2. Allocation of credits required for renewal

2-1 Renewal of membership requires a total of at least 40 credits in the achievement list as stipulated in Article 10-3 of the bylaws: 20 or more credits for attending academic conferences, and another 20 or more credits for making presentations on intensive care at academic conferences or publishing papers.

2-2 Remarks

1. The table shows the numbers of credits awarded for each attendance at an academic conference, and numbers of credits that will be given to each person who has made a presentation at an academic conference or published a paper, regardless of the number of presenters or authors.
2. Attending a meeting or making a presentation regarding intensive care in foreign countries will score the same number of credits as attending a related academic conference.
3. Related academic societies approved by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine include:
    1) General Assembly of the Japan Medical Congress
    2) Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists
    3) Japanese Association of Acute Medicine
    4) Japan Surgical Society
    5) Japanese Association of Thoracic Surgery
    6) Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons
    7) Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery
    8) Japanese Society of Internal Medicine
    9) Japanese Circulation Society
    10) Japan Neurosurgical Society
    11) Japan Pediatric Society
    12) Other similar academic societies
4. Academic journals approved by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine refer to journals that have a review organization.
